DESCRIPTION
With its SR556 platform, Ruger’s reliability is adapted equally to an AR platform. The 556 runs on a patented chrome plated two stage piston driven operating system with a chrome lined gas block, chrome plated piston and regulator. The gas system by-products are vented out the bottom of the gas block rather than through the receiver assembly, greatly eliminating contaminants in the bolt carrier area.
